Bhutan is one of the last places on earth where Vajrayana Buddhism thrives and continues to become an integral part of Bhutanese culture. Among the Tibetan Buddhism, Bhutan is highly appreciated and respected for the preservation and promotion of Buddhist practice. Meditation and retreats are a crucial part of Buddhism practice and learning. Therefore, all over Bhutan, you can find retreat and meditation centers. There are hermitages and monasteries that support meditation practitioners from 1 day to several years.

These retreats and meditation centers provide a great place of respite from the daily cares and stressors of everyday lives. Devout Buddhists often venture into the mountains for months or even years to meditate and achieve a certain level of practice in Buddhism. The retreats centers provide practitioners with the opportunity to draw upon their inner self. Along with meditating upon the purpose of life and also improving their meditation skills.

Itinerary

In ancient times exercise and meditation were inseparable pathways to awareness. Today, the powerful techniques of mindful yoga, breathing, and meditation help us balance the demands of daily life. Thus, offering lasting holistic benefits for the body, mind, and spirit.

When we cultivate the wisdom of our body and mind through movements practices, breathing exercises, and meditation, we invite peace of mind.

Hence, we offer this mindfulness meditation and yoga practice in the magical setting of Bhutan. Whereby you can unwind, relax and come into a more integrated relationship with yourself and your world.

Each day of the retreat begins with a morning practice of sitting/sound Meditation. After spending the day exploring the religious and cultural riches of Paro you will then return to your hotel for deep relaxation. Moreover, the evening sessions include talks on how you can incorporate mindfulness practices in daily life, discussion, meditation, and reflection.

In sitting practice inner silence and stillness develop, concentration deepens, and awareness expands. Gradually begin the meditation with awareness of breath and opens to include mindfulness of all experiences, external and internal, of body sensations and emotions, of thoughts and the nature of mind.

Just as in sitting meditation, where attention is brought to the rhythmic patterns of breathing, Walking meditation requires one to walk while becoming aware of your surrounding, the sounds, the environment and the illusionary nature of the externalities and try to bring the mind inwards.

Experience different types of meditation practice (breath awareness, awareness meditation, and mindful meditation.)
Look at methods for developing spiritual wellness
